Created in 1951, from an ill fated trip with the girl scouts that involved heavy canned food on a multiday mountain trek. The leader went home inspired to create something new, a lighter, more manageable, just add water alternative to canned foods. She succeeded, Annie Benedict create Dri-lite foods, which became the first adventure food on the market out of Annie's garage.
Backapackers pantry has since become 100% solar powered, has offset all carbon emissions from shipping and plans to create sustainable packaging in the future.
